Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Websites also use similar tools, such as your browser’s storage, to remember things between pages. The law treats them the same way, so this page explains everything this site stores and why.
The short version
We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not track you across other websites. The only cookie this site can cause to be set comes from Google’s spam check on the newsletter form, and only once you start filling it in.
Counting visits
We count how many people visit each page, and how quickly pages load, using Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. They set no cookies and store nothing on your device. They record the page, your country, your browser and the site you came from, and they cannot be used to identify you or follow you elsewhere.
What your browser stores for one visit
When you open a form, your browser keeps two small items in its session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab:
- videre_utm remembers the campaign link that brought you here, if there was one, so an enquiry is credited to the right source.
- videre_visit is a random reference that ties together the forms you fill in during the same visit, so we can see which of our pages lead to a conversation.
Neither is sent to us unless you submit a form, and the site works fully without them.
Google reCAPTCHA on the newsletter form
Our newsletter sign-up is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which stops automated spam. Google’s script loads only when you start on that form, and it may set a cookie called _GRECAPTCHA, which lasts up to six months, and read cookies Google has already set. We use it only to keep the form secure. See Google’s privacy policy and terms.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings. Everything on this site will still work, though the newsletter form may not accept a sign-up if reCAPTCHA is blocked. If that happens, email hello@viderefinancial.com and we will add you.
More detail
Our privacy notice explains how we use personal data, your rights and how to contact us. If we change what this site stores, we will update this page first.
